The money raised will help children with autism have a chance at independent living. Your support has enabled us to raise a total of $500,000 the past 11 years.

By taking part you will be raising money for autism and Giant Steps Sydney. Giant Steps is a Registered Charity.

Swimming a few laps is nothing compared to the challenge of life with autism

With your support we can help children with autism reach their potential

2020 Funds Raised

(as at 18th March 2020)

5 Hour Relay

2 Hour Relay

The 2020 swim4autism has had to be postponed due to COVID-19 concerns and the early closure of the Andrew (Boy) Charlton pool in the Sydney Domain. We hope to reschedule the swim for October 2020.

The Swim4Autism 5 hour event is all about raising funds for autism. The swim is a great family day and an excellent opportunity to have fun swimming with your family and friends. The Carlos Cup trophies are presented to the top fundraising individual, the top fundraising teams and the individual who swim the furthest distance.

How the Swim Challenge Works

Individual Challenge

Swim as many laps as you can in order to raise funds via your sponsors. You can swim 1 lap, 50 laps or swim the entire 5 hours, it’s your challenge.

Prizes for the individual and team who raise the most funds.

Relay Challenge

Enter a team into the relay event. There will be two different formats for the relays.

1. 5 Hour Team Relay. The team complete as many laps as possible within 5 hours.

  1. 2.2 Hour Team Relay. The team complete as many laps as possible within 2 hours.

Teams consist of a minimum of 3 swimmers and only one swimmer should be in the water at any one time. There is no restriction on how far each individual swimmer must swim or how often swimmers can change over. It’s not the Olympics, it about having fun and raising money for kids with autism.

Everything you need to know about the Swim4Autism 5 Hour Challenge can be found on this website.
